A quick and easy recipe. This almond milk is made with raw almonds, water, and dates for sweetness. A delicious alternative to dairy milk.

When making almond milk I alway use raw almonds. You can make it with both but the taste of raw almonds is smoother and more neutral.

How to make almond milk?
Making almond milk is a breeze, just add soaked almonds, a date as a natural sweetener and cold water in a blender. Blend for 1 min, strain the almond milk to remove the pulp and that’s it!
What are nut milk bags?
The most tedious part of making almond milks at home is straining the nut milk. I prefer using a nut milk bag for straining. Nut milk bags are made of fine mesh specifically designed for making plant-based milk alternatives, such as almond milk, cashew milk, or oat milk. Honestly, they are just easier to handle and clean but if you don’t have one you can always use a cheesecloth. Here is the one I use.
Tips:
- Use raw almonds for the best flavor.
- If you don’t have a nut milk bag or cheesecloth, you can use a fine mesh strainer..
- Remember to use cold water for blending! If you don’t have in hand just add a few pieces of ice to the blender.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp Raw, unsalted almonds (~1/4 cup)
- 2 cups cold water
- 1 medjool date
Instructions
- Soak raw almonds in water overnight in the fridge.
- Drain the almonds and rinse them well.
- Place the almonds in a high-powered blender or food processor.
- Add the water and medjool date.
- Blend on high speed for 1 minute, or until the almonds are completely smooth.
- Strain the almond milk through a nut milk bag or cheesecloth.
- Squeeze the nut milk bag well.
- Store the almond milk in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
